Best Home Gym: Staying Fit within Budget
Most people who have a hectic schedule prefer purchasing a multi gym workstation instead of free weights in the form of dumbbells or barbells.
However, deciding which equipment to purchase always turns out to be a complex process due to a wide variety of options to choose from.
We’ll go through several examples of best home gym equipment that have received a wide number of positive feedbacks.
However, it will be best to personally try the equipment first prior to buying it to ensure that it will meet the owners needs and suitable to their lifestyle.
What’s the Best Home Gym
Bowflex gyms used to be considered as a very expensive piece of equipment. That image changed with the launch of Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym (see my review here) which cost around $500, relatively lower price than its first counterparts.
Bowflex PR 1000 is suitable for fitness enthusiasts. Its main focus is on cardiovascular and strength training. It improves specific areas like abs, chest and legs.
It is not recommended for those whose goal is bodybuilding or serious weight training. It requires a higher level of resistance which can be found on Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym.
Most users of PR1000 find it easy to use because of its nice smooth motion. With this feature, it will limit the stress on joints which is a common source of injury. Although it’s well built, it offers convenience since it can easily be folded and occupy a small space only. Even though it’s less expensive than other Bowflex counterparts, it offers the same level of quality.
Aside from Bowflex PR 1000, Weider Total Body Works 5000 Gym is also considered as one of the best home gym equipment. Although it’s similar in looks and function compared to Total Gym founded by Chuck Norris, there’s a huge price difference of $129 versus $849.
Body Works 5000 make use of the users’ bodyweight for resistance. It has 4 resistance bands which increases the resistance up to 50lbs. It also offers 7 different incline levels.
This either increases or lowers the workouts challenge. Lastly, Body Works 5000 can perform as much as 100 exercises that improve ones strength, flexibility and endurance.
Body Works 5000 is not ideal for those who want to gain muscle. This is only ideal for strength training of the upper body especially if the incline is set on a highest setting.
For lower body improvement, one should invest in free weights instead. Body Works 5000 is very convenient since it can easily be folded and only weighs 76 lbs. It has a limited warranty of 90days and one user complained that replacement parts are quite expensive.
Lastly, Body Solid EXM1500S Single Stack Home Gym is considered one of the best home gym equipment and viewed as quite impressive.
What sets it apart from the rest of home gym is the placement of low row off on the side instead of front which saves a lot of space. In addition to that feature, adjusting the weight stack while exercising is also much easier.
There’s also an added cable attachment for a mid-row, allowing focus on abs training.
